AMD AI Days brings hands-on AI and machine learning training for AMD GPUs to the Max Planck Society.

Over 1.5 days, participants will get a practical introduction to the AI ecosystem on AMD hardware, covering topics from container workflows and PyTorch training to LLM optimization, profiling, and inference benchmarking. The workshop closes with a look at more advanced applications, including neural operators, surrogate models, and a hands-on Tiny LLaMA example. Sessions are tailored to Viper-GPU, MPCDF's AMD-based HPC-AI system, which is freely available to all Max Planck researchers.

The event is aimed at researchers and research software engineers looking to build practical skills in AI/ML on AMD GPUs, and takes place online on Monday afternoon, October 5th, and all day Tuesday, October 6th.
