IMPORTANT
Registration for in-person participation is closed as we have reached our capacity limit. However, you can be placed on our waiting list by sending an email to phds@demogr.mpg.de stating that you are applying for in-person participation in the IMPRS-PHDS Annual Academy. Should a registered in-person participant cancel, we will offer their place to the next person on the waiting list, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration for online participation is still open and will remain open until the end of the academy on December 5.
The 7th IMPRS-PHDS Annual Academy takes place from 3-5 December 2025 at the MPIDR in Rostock. This year’s academy will again focus on students’ research presentations and networking activities. All students will be given the opportunity to present themselves and their research to our network and receive feedback from faculty, alumni and from their peers. Our alumni will again share their experiences in a designated session. For the first time ever at an academy, we will be treating ourselves to a keynote lecture by an eminent scientist. As always, we will allow ample time for informal discussions, socializing, and networking. As always, the Academy will thrive on active participation, and everyone should be actively involved.
Our 2025 Academy will be an onsite event with a limited virtual option. Conditions for in-person and virtual participants will not be the same. In particular, in-person participants will have better conditions and virtual participants will have worse conditions. It is likely that we will stream the talks and presentations, while participation in the networking activities will only be available to on-site attendees. We therefore strongly recommend that you attend in person.
