Good Data Management Practices
by
SR top floor
CSBD
The workshop attendees will learn about practises to manage all kinds of research data. Hands on sessions introduce long term CBG staff to newer practises from the RDM onboarding focusing e.g.
- on scalable folder hierarchies
- file name conventions
- readme files
- data management plans
and more.
There will be also a focus, how these structures (re-)appear in different tools like Labfolder or Gitlab.
The ultimate goal is to enable more reproducible research and help you to stay on top of your data flows.
Level: Beginners - especially those who did not receive CBG RDM onboarding, but all levels are welcome
Format: Explainations, single and group activities
Who can participate / Capacity: max 20 CBG staff
Requirements: Please bring a computer
This workshop is part of the workshop series on reproducibility and good IT practices offered by the Scientific Computing Facility in September 2025.
