Cloud Workshop 2026 Hands-On Cloud Computing for the MPG
online
A 2-day hands-on introduction to the cloud infrastructure for the Max Planck Society
Who should attend
This workshop is designed for system administrators, cloud practitioners, and DevOps engineers across the Max Planck Society. No prior experience is required — we'll take you from the basics to a solid, working understanding of cloud infrastructure. If you already use an HPC Cloud project from the MPCDF, you'll also come away with new insights and ideas for your service planning.
Format
- Mornings: Core concepts, explained clearly and built up step by step
- Afternoons: Hands-on practice and open Q&A, so you can apply what you've learned and get your questions answered in real time
Why attend
This isn't just theory — it's practice. Each participant receives access to a dedicated cloud project for the full duration of the workshop, giving you the chance to try out everything covered in the sessions on real infrastructure.
Takeaway: By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to confidently set up networking, storage and compute resources in the cloud and will have particed deploying real applications (LLMs, web stacks) using infrastructure automation.
⚠️ Spots for hands-on trial projects are limited — early registration is recommended!
