DESCRIPTION:The field of light–matter interaction\, which has been at th
e center of physics and engineering since the invention of the laser is en
tering a new era. Electromagnetic fields and quantum degrees of freedom of
matter are being engineered with unprecedented control. Across nanophoton
 ics\, metamaterials\, ultrafast spectroscopy and quantum materials\, a pow
erful scientific convergence is underway. Photons are increasingly used to
steer matter\, energy flow and information across multiple time and lengt
h scales.\nThe 2026 Workshop on the Frontiers in Light–Matter Interactio
ns brings together a uniquely broad group of internationally recognized sp
eakers working at the intersection of:\n\nNanophotonics\, metasurfaces\, a
nd resonant photonics\nQuantum materials\, polaritonic systems\, and emerg
ent phenomena in light matter hybrids\nUltrafast science and nonlinear/str
 ong-field optics\nNear-field nano-optics and next-generation spectroscopy\
nIR\, mid-IR and THz physics for control and sensing\n\nThis is an intera
ction-first workshop\, intentionally designed to favor depth over breadth.
Talks will follow a tutorial-style format (45 minutes each)\, leaving amp
le space for real discussion\, scientific exchanges\, and collaboration-bu
ilding.\nOn August 1\, we will conclude the workshop with a one-day specia
l meeting honoring Prof. Albert Polman for his 65th birthday\, with severa
l other talks honoring Prof. Polman's scientific contributions and a speci
al dinner.\n\nA Special Invitation to Early-Stage Researchers\n\nA core go
al of this workshop is to create an environment where graduate students an
d postdocs can play an active scientific role\, not simply attend. We warm
ly encourage early-stage participants to present their work through poster
s and short communications. If your research touches any aspect of modern
light–matter interaction\, this workshop offers an unusually high-qualit
 y setting for feedback\, visibility\, and new collaborations.\n\nRegistrat
ion & Fees\n\nPlease register on the corresponding subpage by May 31.Regis
trations made by April 30 will be treated as early bird registrations. The
registration fee will increase by 50 euros after the early-bird deadline.
\nThe early bird registration fee is 300€ for invited speakers and 150
€ for early stage researchers and students. Please use these payment lin
ks:\n\nInvited speakers (300€)\nEarly stage researchers and students (15
0€)\n\nImportant Information:Associazione NanoPlasm will be in charge of
the registration process. It is a No-profit Cultural Association\, regist
ered with the Direct Tax Office (Ufficio delle Imposte Dirette)\, C.F. 981
20770783\, which does not carry out business activities and therefore does
not have a VAT ID. VAT is required only if any type of commercial activit
y is conducted (DPR 633/72 art 1 and 5). Associazione NanoPlasm\, on the
basis of collections for membership fees and contributions for non-commerc
ial activities\, may issue a receipt upon request. According to the laws i
n force this receipt is exempt from stamp duty (Article 7\, table B\, comm
a 16 of DPR 642/72 as amended by Presidential Decree No 55 of December 30\
, 1982). The payment of the registration fee has to be considered as a me
mbership fee to the Associazione NanoPlasm\, and this makes the participan
t a supporting associate of the Association for this event and for the cur
rent year.\n\nVenue\n\nThe workshop will take place at the Grand Hotel San
  Michele (Cetraro).Since rooms are assigned on a first-come\, first-served
basis and a special discount is offered for all participants\, it is high
ly recommended to book your room as early as possible and in all cases bef
ore April 30. Space is limited\, and rooms may not be available after Apri
l 30. For booking\, please see the "Accommodation" subpage. There will be
a transfer service between Lamezia Terme Airport / Train Station and Paola
Train Station.\n\nAbstracts\n\nAll speakers must submit a 1-2 page abstra
ct describing the approach and main findings of the work to be presented o
n the corresponding subpage by April 30.\n\nOrganizers\n\n\n\n\nAndrea Al
