 , existing social inequalities and ongoing population trends such as the a
 ging of the population can exacerbate the risks posed by environmental haz
 ards. Recent methodological innovations and novel data sources opened a de
 eper understanding on how environmental hazards are affecting human welfar
 e. However\, several open questions remain. For instance\, on the impact o
 f climate change and environmental hazards on social inequalities or on ho
 w the sustainable transition could provide broad societal benefits. Overal
 l\, understanding the population consequences of environmental hazards\, c
 limate change and the sustainable transition requires robust theoretical f
 rameworks\, innovative methodological approaches\, and benefits greatly fr
 om multidisciplinary collaborations and novel statistical methods.\nThis t
 wo-day symposium invites scholars across disciplines\,i ncluding sociology
 \, demography\, public health\, political science\, statistics\, computer 
 science\, and economics\, to submit original research examining the links 
 between environmental hazards\, climate change\, sustainability and outcom
 es such as social inequalities\, mortality\, migration\, fertility\, human
  capital\, and health. By fostering dialogue among global experts\, this e
 vent symposium aims to advance research and provide interdisciplinary insi
