The Sustainability Group of the FHI 10m

Founded in 2019, the Sustainability Group at the Fritz Haber Institute has implemented various initiatives to promote sustainability and environmental awareness. These initiatives include creating a flowering meadow in collaboration with Freie Universität, offering sustainable lunches and coffee breaks, and organizing an annual fruit harvest from the institute's garden. The group has improved mobility and recycling efforts by switching to recycled paper, installing additional bike racks and a bicycle repair station, and conducting a thorough CO₂ emissions comparison and sustainability survey. Current projects include installing photovoltaic systems on institute roofs, organizing a bicycle market, and hosting a Journal Club to discuss sustainability topics.
