Ten years ago, She She Pop sat opposite contemporaries from the former GDR in “Schubladen”. They negotiated the systemic conditions that had produced their so-called identities: two strong ideologies, two opposing doctrines that were coherent in themselves. Against the backdrop of a present characterized by isolation and destruction, She She Pop open the stage for a collective search for visions of the future and what stands in their way. As an intellectual continuation of “Schubladen”, which was performed at HELLERAU in November 2019 at the “89/19” festival, She She Pop have also invited various guests for “Mauern”, who share the stage with them or are connected virtually. Together, they travel through time between moments of the past and possible futures. In doing so, they try their hand at community building across various borders: language, physical and solidarity borders, borders of the imagination and even tough visa borders.
