Description

The law of political economy has long roots. In the western context these roots can be traced back to medieval times. Through colonial law the law of political economy moreover obtained a global dimension. Departing from this background, four epistemes of law are de- and reconstructed from a law of political economy angle: The German Historical School of Jurisprudence; Corporatist Law; Law and Economics as well as Reflexive Law. This finally leads to the question if we currently are seeing a new episteme of transformative law, which has sustainability as its core concept, emerging.
